Welcome to Dreams of the Wild!
We are a semi-realistic wild horse role-play game, and we've been alive and active since January 2006. We know this because we've still got active members from way back then!
DOTW is a free-for-all role-play with a 200 word minimum count for all in-character posts. We've always got members wanting to plot, and over the years, the community has been consistently amazing.
Feel free to have a look around, and we'll answer any questions you have. Looking forward to meeting you,

The traditional location for equines new to the Wild to go. Mares and stallions from numerous herds frequent the area, looking to greet a newcomer. From here, a mare or stallion should be invited to join a herd.
A quiet region of the lands in which a pregnant mare may birth her son or daughter. Players should bear in mind that it is possible to firstly, roleplay in this board, and secondly, request foal stats.
Any equine may challenhe another here; fights will be judged on RP skill. Bear in mind, that from the every post, you have one week to reply, or you lose by default.
The residence of horses who prefer to band together without being bound by the leader of a herd. Generally, any equine is welcome, and their stay may be temporary or permanent.
Huge acient trees that soar above to reach for the sky. Fleeted foot animals dart about, while birds wing in song from tree to tree. A soft wind can be heard in the leaves. Carried along is a smell of earth and pine needles which is pleasent and soothing to equine noses. Sunlight slants down in werid angles to the forest floor during the day, while at night the silver moonlight seems to make the forest glow. In summer the leaves are a deep green color. During the fall they are bright merging of gold, orange and red. Movement can be difficult as some area's are clogged with thick growth. Paths wind through the trees are in use for herd travel. There are secret walkways, but finding them is nearly impossible, Streams criss cross the forest, bubbling at different depths. The trees act as a windbreaking in the winter, holding back snow. Within there heart of the forest there are clumps of bright green grass speckled with flowers, leading to a clear still pool. Rings of violets, lilys and clumps of foxgloves grow. A flat large rock jutted out into the water, a place for an animal to stand, or to lay and sunbath. Reeds gently swayed back and forth, while lily pads rest on the water. Willow trees can be found near the pool edge, dangling their long branchs into the water. Odd glens sprinkled with flowers are pocketed here and there for feeding. At edge of the forest there is a long narrow field that wraps like cresent. The rim of this area has mainly beech trees with peeling bark. The grass here is the thickest, and longest with assorted other floral to make it pretty. However protection from the snow is also the least making feeding hard in the winter with large drifts that may come to the chest. It does boast the clearest sky so that a equine may come to admire the stars, or to watch the ply of the luminus sunrise, or bold sunset dance across the air. In the far distance, the mountians can be see thrusting up with an angry nearly threatening feel.
These lowlands tend to be cool year-round with little shelter besides a few sparsely wooded areas and the occasional lone tree. The land is flat with a few high hills and a view of the mountain tops in the distance while a single pond surrounded by the largest of the wooded spaces, serves as the main source of water. In spring the fields come alive with colorful praire grass and flowers, turning the typically bare-looking land into a meadow alive with the glistening wings of butterflies and the gentle songs of birds. Summers are typically mild and through fall many of the grasses grow low to the ground. Winters tend to be colder than some other lands but because of the low elevation it snows only lightly, never reaching deeper than a half foot.
These lands are mostly mountainous. There are few places where the ground is flat and not leaf-covered. Trees and forests are everywhere. Every mountain has a high timberline, and the rest of it is covered with snow year-round. There is one main valley. It is very small, and the field in it can fit very many horses. The terrain is rocky and only the most sturdy of horses can cross it. At the edge of the territory, the ocean crashes against a cliff that has been there for centuries. You can hear the waves smacking the edge in almost every part of the land. Due to the ocean, fog always seems to settle on the land, giving it a spooky feel. Thunderstorms, snow, hail, and most extreme weather tend to roll in more than most members would like. There are caves around the land for the herd to take shelter in, and a high ledge that looks down on most of the territory.
The West is possibly the most lush and fertile land of them all, there is rarely any shortage in water or food due to the abundance in water. The land is mainly flat, characterised with small brooks, rivers and trickling streams. In the very centre of the land lies the heart of the West, a large fresh lake. It is the main means of water source to the equines of the land, and it isn't unusual for one to see a member of the herd taking a dip in the clean liquid. All around waterbirds dot the horizon, and watervoles and even otters frequent the area. Surrounding the main flat land, are four hills. The largest provides the herd with a clear view of the whole land. Every now and then you will find a pleasant gathering of tree's, serving the equines with shelter from the beating sun and the biting wind. On the furthest reach of the territory lies the sea, where all the waterways end up. There lies a beautiful beach, the sand is the purest of white's and as soft as a feather. The trickling streams whisper to you, the rush of the lush grass caressing your hooves.
